Shared vCPUs, explained
October 29, 2026
A vCPU on a Revenact VM is shared: it runs on a physical CPU thread that other VMs on the same host can also use.
Why share?
Most servers sit idle much of the time. Sharing puts that idle time to use, which is what makes the prices possible.
When is it a problem?
If your work keeps every core busy around the clock, like encoding video or training models, you’ll get better results from hardware that’s only yours.
What to use instead
A dedicated server gives you the whole machine, and a GPU server adds NVIDIA cards.
